LANDSCAPE DESIGN, INSTALLATION & MAINTENANCE MISSION STATEMENT: To create a beautiful landscape, promote the right plant in the right spot, and educate about plants, maintenance & design.*

*Landscapes have been organic, sustainable, and water-wise since green was a color not a movement.

EXTERIOR DESIGN INCLUDES: Plants, mulch, outdoor rooms, kitchens, pool, outdoor furnishings, patio/deck shapes-color-materials, pathways, pots, focal points, paint colors on the house, gutters, shutters, light fixtures, doors, doormats, hardware, styling window views into the house.

INSTALLING YOUR LANDSCAPE: My contracting crew can install your complete landscape design including plants, ponds, arbors, stone terraces, flagstone paths, a gravel or concrete drive, boulder steps, cobblestone edging, stone walls, drainage solutions, Tara Turf or an old world lawn, irrigation, cisterns, rain barrels and more.

If you prefer DIY, we will discuss the best phasing for planting your landscape. You may wish to combine DIY with my contractors.

Plant Discounts Available.

YOUR LANDSCAPE DESIGN HOMEWORK: Help me pull the landscape from your imagination into a drawing. I incorporate the dictates of your site, architecture of your home, interior style, and axis views from inside to design your landscape.

Gather the following to help me complete your landscape design.

Create a mission statement, no more than 2 lines, of what you want from and for your landscape. You may include a mission statement for front, back, or more.

Make a copy of your plat, it's usually with your mortgage papers.

Homeowner association rules. You are responsible for submitting the plan.

Determine where you have full sun, part sun, shade, part shade.

Make a list of plants you like.

Make a list of plants you dislike.

Tear out several pictures of landscapes you like or put post-it notes in garden books from the library.

Tear out 2 pictures of landscapes you do not like.

I BELIEVE

In organic, low maintenance & beautiful landscapes. To achieve this I use flowering shrubs, trees and groundcovers.

Landscapes begin inside your home from window views.

A landscape must be as beautiful in February as in May.

Fragrance, birds, butterflies, grace, and higher property values are the product of good landscape design.

In Tara's Trinity of the Southern Garden: azalaeas, camellias, hydrangeas.

Creating a beautiful landscape creates a beautiful life.

LANDSCAPE DESIGN BY MAIL-PHONE-PICTURES

Through the years I've been asked to do landscape designs for out-of-state clients via snail mail and the telephone. In residential subdivision settings, under 1 acre, the process works well.
.
A plat of your property is needed.
.
Several pictures of each side of your home are needed.
.
Several pictures from inside your home looking out main views to the landscape are needed.
.
I'll need the questions, above, answered.
.
Once I receive your envelope of plat, pictures & answers we'll make a telephone appt. to talk about your landscape. I'll ask lots of questions.
.
I'll draw a concept plan & mail to you. The concept plan includes shapes, focal points, hardscape & plant types.
.
We'll set another phone appt. to go over the concept plan.
.
I'll ask more questions and answer your questions. We'll finalize axis, vanishing threshold, colors, styling, plant types.
.
I'll complete the plan & mail it to you.
.
We'll go over the plan again via phone.
.
The final plan will be explained, tweeked as needed, and phasing in of the projects will be discussed.
.
Follow-up questions via email are free.
